| The ASI-422 Ground Proximity Warning System Test Panel is designed to facilitate testing and troubleshooting of the Bendix CPA-83A Computer and the PRA-83 Pressure Rate Sensor. When combined with standard commercial test equipment it provides all necessary test facilities for proper maintenance and calibration of the GPW-83 Ground Proximity Warning System. The ASI-422 simulates an aircraft flight path at any altitude below 2600 feet. the test panel provides warning indicators that monitor the five modes of operation of the CPA-83A:
1. Excessive sink-rate with respect to terrain.
2. Excessive terrain closure rate.
3. Descent after take off.
4. Insufficient clearance, not in landing configuration.
5. Deviation below glide path. Additional circuits, warning indicators, and an internal speaker monitor the visual and aural outputs of the CPA-83A. The ASI-422 also provides primary power and altitude information to allow for functional testing of the PRA-83NB. The ASI-422 includes two cables required for proper operation. |
