| Operational Description: |

| The ASI-742 Radar System Test Panel is used in conjunction with a CON-4A/4B Controller, PPI-4B Indicator, RTA-4A R/T, and DAA-4A/4B Antenna Drive Unit to test the RDR-4A Radar System. The ASI-742 provides a central station for interconnection of the system. The Test Panel generates target range, pulse width and digital or analog attitude signals, and ground speed signals which are transmitted to the R/T. The signals generated by the ASI-742 simulate signals from the antenna and the aircraft. Provision has been made for mounting the CON-4A/4B directly in the front panel. Testing of the DAA-4B Antenna Drive Unit requires the optional ASI-72-2K adapter cable. The ASI-741 (RMT -4A) can be used with the ASI-742 to test the turbulence detection functions of the RTA-4A R/T. The ASI-799 (AXT-4A) can be used in conjunction with the ASI-742 to simulate the aircraft CFDS Computer and MCDU Display. |
